Updated: Jul 24, 2020

There’s one essential oil that I use every single day without fail. It’s a powerful detoxification oil that I add to my water throughout the day. Your liver will be doing a happy dance whenever you add any pure citrus essential oils in with your water as it helps it to metabolise everything your body has taken on board.

This super versatile oil also boosts immunity and supports digestive function.

Lemon oil is something that we use in several ways in our home.

Lemon essential oil is extracted from the lemon rinds, or peel of the lemon.

The lemon rinds are cold pressed to produce lemon essential oil. This process is what makes this a Photosensitive oil so should never be applied topically to any part of your skin that will be exposed to the daylight.

In one year, a single lemon tree has the potential to produce between 500 and 600 pounds of lemons. It typically takes around 50 lemons to fill a 15ml doTERRA essential oil bottle and comes from citrus orchards in Sicily, Italy (there are 250 drops of oil in a15ml Bottle).

Here Are the top 5 Benefits of pure Lemon Essential Oil:

1 Supports digestive function

2 Boosts immunity and cleanses the body

3 Improves mood

4 Contains powerful antioxidant properties

5 Offers non-toxic green cleaning abilities

Here is one of the most practical recipes for lemon oil, especially at this time of year:

By combining Lemon, Lavender, and Peppermint essential oils, you can ease the suffering from seasonal threats if you suffer with the following symptoms:

• Runny nose

• Watery eyes

• Constant sneezing

• Itchy skin

LEMON essential oil naturally breaks down the sinus-clogging mucus in your body to clear up post-nasal drip and rid your body of unwanted toxins.

LAVENDER essential oil works as a powerful, natural antihistamine to relieve itch and swelling from environmental irritants while calming and soothing your mind and body.

I love maximising the use of my precious time by doing two things at once!

PEPPERMINT essential oil opens up airways, allowing you to breathe more freely and clearly while giving you a boost of natural energy without relying on caffeine.

An effective way to use these 3 oils together is to combine 2 drops of each lemon, lavender & peppermint and put in a diffuser or make up your own roller bottle blend

(IMPORTANT NOTE: lemon oil is photosensitive as are all citrus oils, so if you opt to make up your own rollerball, this Should not to be applied on any area of skin that will be exposed to the sun. Best to apply to soles of feet if not sunbathing or apply to areas of skin under clothing that won’t be exposed to the daylight!).
